Airshow Facilities

The event takes place in the popular resort of Dawlish in South Devon. With everything happening within a public place spectators have access to numerous retail outlets, gift shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs at local prices. No overflated prices or mobile vending units.

All display areas are free to access, the static areas are staffed by the aircrew and Air Cadets equipped with the knowledge to show the public the aircraft up close. Based in and around a town centre had the advantage of a variety of retail outlets, restaurants, cafes and pubs all at reasonable prices. Other facilities include:
 

  • Numerous permanent toilet facilities including baby changing and disabled access

  • Event Medical Centre and four first aid posts

  • Trade stands, stalls, fairgrounds rides in the Lawn Arena

  • Dedicated Viewing Area for those with wheelchairs

  • Superb public transport access and event parking for 1500 vehicles

  • Travel to the event provided by a number of tour operators

  • Marshals and event staff trained and qualified to nationally agreed levels.

  • Watch the airshow from 2 miles of sandy beaches or from the South West Coast Path along the cliffs above the beach.

  • 6 large holiday parks, several high quality hotels, many guesthouses and touring parks offering accommodation during the event.

Advice For Spectators

  • Arrange To Meet With Friends And Family Before Entering The Airshow Area.
  • We advise people to view the display from within the marked Designated crowd area
     
  • Set A Meeting Place, Just In Case You Lose A Member Of Family Or Friends.
     
  • Check Your Travel Arrangements For Your Journey Before Leaving Home.
  • If You Live In Walking Distance From The Show, Then We Suggest You Walk.
     
  • Go With The Crowd Flow, Try To Avoid Walking Towards/Against The Crowd.
     
  • Try To Keep All Valuables And Belongs At Close Hand At All Times.
     
  • And Mainly, Our Motto For The Day Is Arrive Early, Leave Late (Plenty To Do)

The Town
Visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of the town and it’s carnival throughout their stay and are welcome to participate in any of the carnival’s events. The town has 14 public houses, a theatre, leisure centre, several good restaurants and the atmosphere on the evening following the air show and carnival procession is something to be experienced with festivities continuing to the small hours of the morning.
